Sister Patricia Selected as Chair-Elect of the Early Childhood Music Education Commission
While the Music Center’s Founder and Executive Director, Sister Patricia St. John, was in Brasilia, Brazil (July 12-19, 2014), at the Early Childhood Music Education (ECME) Seminar, she was selected to serve as Chair-Elect of the Early Childhood Music Education Commission. Sister Patricia assisted the other five commissioners (from Australia, Kenya, The Netherlands, Singapore, and United States) with the Seminar preparations for the 2016 gathering in the Netherlands (ECME) and the International Society for Music Education (ISME) conference in Scotland. Now, Sister Patricia is providing leadership as Chair for the 2018 gathering in BAKU, Azerbaijan, where ISME will be held. The ECME Seminar will take place in Israel the week before the larger World Conference venue and it will be Sister Patricia’s responsibility to work with international partners to work with the host for the ECME Seminar.
Says Sister Patricia: “I am humbled and honored to receive this affirmation from my peers on the ECME International Commission.”
Previously, in 2012, Sister Patricia was unanimously selected to serve a six-year term as Commissioner on the Early Childhood Music Education Commission. Read more here.
